Vor sechs Jahren wurde im Sudan das langjährige Regime Omar al-Baschirs gestürzt und ein Übergang zu Demokratie und Stabilität schien möglich. Doch seit über zwei Jahren herrscht Krieg im Sudan und die Welt schaut weg! Armee und RSF-Miliz bekämpfen sich auf Kosten der Bevölkerung: Millionen Menschen leiden an Hunger, Millionen sind auf der Flucht vor Gräueltaten und Blutbädern, doch in der internationalen Öffentlichkeit scheint der Krieg vergessen. Alle Konfliktlösungeversuche sind bislang gescheitert.
Der Afrikanische Muslim Kreis (AMK) e.V. lädt Sie/Euch zu seinem diesjährigen Fachtag ein. Nach unserem ersten Fachtag zum Krieg im Sudan im letzten Jahr möchten wir mit Ihnen/Euch und vielen Vertreter*innen der sudanesischen Diaspora in Deutschland die Diskussion weiterführen, wie der Krieg im Sudan beendet werden könnte. Woran und an wem scheiterten bislang alle Konfliktlösungsveruche? Wie könnte eine Konfliktlösung aussehen, die dauerhaft tragfähig ist? Wie und von wem könnte sie angestoßen und durchgesetzt werden? Wie können Wiederaufbau, Stabilisierung und Demokratisierung für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung in einem souveränen Sudan eingeleitet werden? Wie kann erreicht werden, dass Frauenorganisationen, die besonders aktiv am Sturz des al-Bashir-Regimes beteiligt waren, und die Demokratiebewegung in Friedensverhandlungen eine wichtige Rolle spielen? Wie könnte dies alles von Deutschland, der EU und der Afrikanischen Union unterstützt werden?

1. Kurze Einführung zum aktuellen Entwicklungsstand des Kriegs im Sudan mit dem Schwerpunkt: Woran und an wem im Sudan selbst scheiterten bislang alle Friedensbemühungen? Manal Seifeldin (sudanesische Frauen- und Menschenrechtlerin)
2. Woran und an wem scheiterten bislang alle Friedensbemühungen in der Betrachtung der internationalen Dimension? Welche Rolle spielen die Nachbarländer? Welche Rolle internationale Akteure wie Afrikanische Union, Vereinigte Arabische Emirate, USA, Rußland, EU, Deutschland?
3. Die Rolle des Millitärs und der Paramilitärs im Sudan – Wie konnten sie in eine so starke, auch politisch und ökonomisch bedeutende Rolle kommen? Six years ago, Omar al-Bashir’s long-standing regime was overthrown in Sudan, and a transition to democracy and stability seemed possible. But for over two years now, war has been raging in Sudan, and the world is looking the other way! The army and the RSF militia are fighting each other at the expense of the population: millions of people are suffering from hunger, millions are fleeing atrocities and bloodshed, yet the international community seems to have forgotten about the war. All attempts at conflict resolution have failed so far.
The African Muslim Circle (AMK) e.V. invites you to this year’s symposium. Following our first symposium on the war in Sudan last year, we would like to continue the discussion with you and many representatives of the Sudanese diaspora in Germany on how the war in Sudan could be ended. Why and by whom have all attempts at conflict resolution failed so far? What could a lasting solution to the conflict look like? How and by whom could it be initiated and implemented? How can reconstruction, stabilisation and democratisation be initiated for sustainable development in a sovereign Sudan? How can women’s organisations, which were particularly active in the overthrow of the al-Bashir regime, and the democracy movement be ensured to play an important role in peace negotiations? How could all this be supported by Germany, the EU and the African Union?

2. Why and who has caused all peace efforts to fail so far when considering the international dimension? What role do neighbouring countries play? What role do international actors such as the African Union, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, Russia, the EU and Germany play?
3. The role of the military and paramilitary forces in Sudan – How did they come to play such a strong and politically and economically significant role? How could the military’s independence from politics and society be overcome? Dr Ibrahim Khattab (Chairman of the Board, Sudanclub e.V.)
