With “Health Is Everything” (“Gesundheit ist alles”), we help people in particular need in Foumban, Cameroon, when they have to go to the hospital. We cover surgery and hospital costs and provide food during treatment.
How the help works
Collecting donations
We collect donations in Berlin. Our members’ fees are added to them.
Choosing together
We decide together with ADDC who receives support. The criteria are the severity of the illness, income, and family situation.
Paying for treatment
Our partner organization ADDC in Foumban uses the money to pay for treatment at the regional hospital.
Providing food
During treatment, ADDC provides the patients with food.
Supported by members and donors
The project has been running for more than ten years and is self-funded: the money comes from membership fees and donations, not from public funding programs.
Our partner ADDC
ADDC has been our permanent partner in Cameroon since 2008. Cameroonian citizens, many of them university lecturers, founded the association in 2006. Since 2016, it has been based in Foumban.
ADDC has built six schools and a daycare center in the Noun department and runs a vocational school in Foumban. Earlier projects have given rise to a network of 22 local associations and village development committees in Noun.
Health – a priority from the start
In the very first years after our founding, we covered surgery costs for three young people in Niger and Cameroon. In 2013, we expanded the mosque next to the municipal hospital in Foumban and provided drinking water for the local population. Read more about our past projects in Cameroon and Togo.
